Portland evicts tiny houses

BACK TO YO CITY OFFICIALS ARE GIVING A PROPERTY OWNER 30 DAYS TO MOVE A PAIR OF TINY HOUSES.

THE REASON? THEY SAY THE HOMES ARE OUT OF LINE WITH LOCAL LANDSE CODES.

THE STRUCTURES HAVE ABOUT 400 SQUARE FEET OF LIVING SPACE EACH.

THEY ARE SITTING ON A LOT IN A DENSELY POPULATED AREA NOT FA FROM CITY HALL.

THE OWNER BRENT ADLER SAYS HE THOUGHT THEY WOULD BE ALLOWED BECAUSE THEY ARE BASICALLY RECREATIONAL VEHICLES AND HE DOESN'T THINK THE CITY'S CODES PROHIBIT THEM.

BUT CITY OFFICIALS DISAGREE.

>> THERE WAS NO APPLICATION FOR A BUILDING PERM SO WE HAD NOTHING TO REVIEW TO DETERMINE WHETHER OR NOT IT SHOULDE ALLOWED.

SO THE NOTICE VIOLATION IS ASKING THAT EITHER T STRUCTURES ARE REMOVED OR THAT THE DEVELOPER COMES IN A SUBMITS THE PROPER APPLICATI TO RECEIVE THE PERMITS THEY NEED TO BE THERE.
